With America plummeting toward a Socialistic abyss, a presidential impostor selling out our security in Russia, people dying for freedom in Iran and Honduras, petty dictators threatening our very existence and economic chaos mortgaging our children’s futures — how twisted have our values become when we pay such limitless attention to a freakish pervert, who somehow managed to achieve a measure of entertainment success in spite of himself?

Is Michael Jackson still dead?  It’s hard to tell.  For more than a week I’ve heard more about him than in the previous twenty years combined!  I know that journalism has been dead in this country since the media became a Left Wing public relations outlet during last year’s elections but, even so, I didn’t think it had descended to the level of prurient tabloidism found in the rack at a supermarket checkout.

This alleged icon was a drug addict, probably a pedophile and a generally disturbed individual completely out-of-balance with the real world.  Yet we not only glorify his actions but actually consider declaring a national day of mourning to celebrate his life –  a life so abundantly tragic as to make one wonder how he managed to live an entire fifty years!  Would someone please tell me what his contribution was to our country?  To Life?  To anything useful?

Isn’t it about time to start worrying about the havoc being wrought in our own lives?  What about the Crap and Tax Bill that slipped through The House while irresponsible news programming paid ratings homage to this sick little man-child?

If we are to celebrate anyone’s life, let’s consider the men and women fighting in the Middle East to keep us safe, those working to ease the burdens of the poor or those just plain working — who get up and go to work each day to feed their families, without the luxury of extreme self-indulgence like a Michael Jackson or any other flawed character that we all too easily place on a pedestal these days.  I’m frankly sick and tired of our attributing so much relevance to those who are, in fact, so irrelevant when our energy is so desperately needed in matters of  genuine importance, like fighting the creeping tyranny that, right now, threatens our daily quality of life.

If he’s really still dead then let’s bury him before he begins to ripen, buy a C.D. if you like his music and get on with things in America that actually make a difference.

Today in Tehran - Baharestan Square

The slaughter now taking place in Iran may surpass the brutality of Tiananmen Square. As you recoil in horror, and our imaginary leader in Washington tees up for another round of golf, ask yourself two questions:

First — what would you possibly say in negotiation to the kind of sub-human tyrant who, not only condones, but has ordered this kind of barbaric murder of his own people [or of any people]?

Second — given the uncontrolled growth of government in our own country, replete with ‘Bama’s proposed ‘National Security Force‘ and the diminishing role of our Constitution, might these be scenes from a distant future in America?

By the way, the acting president is taking a harder line with the Iranian delegation. They have been un-invited from the White House Fourth of July weenie roast. I give him a lot of credit for not voting present, yet again. He didn’t need to go out on a limb. By simply announcing they’re serving “Hebrew National” hot dogs, nobody would have shown up!

I received a letter the other day which addressed me as a “Conservative Activist”. That night I saw a television show that made me realize some might consider me a “Survivalist”. Here, all the while, I thought I was a “Capitalist” speaking out against “Marxism” in America and supporting our troops fighting “Terrorism” abroad, so the rest of us can live to enjoy “Freedom” at home. Freedom. How’d that word get in there?

Lately, freedom seems to have gotten lost among the labels and, as it turns out, some of us don’t really understand what it is. Take, for example, a Liberal friend of mine [about whom I've spoken before] who agrees with the acting president that we have no right to “impose our way of life” on people in other countries. They both call it “meddling”, as does Mahmoud Ahmedinejad — who probably didn’t even know the word existed until our own B. Hussein Obama used it and gave him the opportunity to toss it back at us as propaganda. My friend has finally quantified the reason we can’t agree on any of the issues: we disagree on the fundamental principles.

What none of the three aforementioned understand is that freedom is the natural condition of human kind. Our founding fathers realized that reality and wrote about it often. Freedom comes from God, not from man. Since it can only be suppressed by man [governments and tyrants], helping to restore the natural order is neither imposing nor meddling. Millions of Iranians risking their lives in the streets of Tehran know that too and are waiting for words of encouragement from America — but our shining beacon at freedom’s door is dark. My friend says it’s none of our business because no one has asked for our help. I don’t know why anyone thinks so many signs in the crowd are printed in English but I’m guessing they’re the same people who think the revolt we are witnessing is still about the election.

Obama is an embarrassment. He has abdicated his responsibility as any kind of free world leader. Even France and Germany have spoken out but, for all the meaningless drivel he and his teleprompter have generated, his deafening silence is broken only by a few vague remarks about the government violence. This ideologue is coldly recasting the very essence of what America is about and will have the blood of thousands on his hands if Ahmedinejad once again slams freedom’s door on the fingers of the Iranian people.

Let me be as plain as the ears on ‘Bama’s head. When he apologizes for the brilliance of America, he does not speak for me. When he parades weakness in front of the world, he does not speak for me. When he insults our friends and friendlies up to our enemies, he does not speak for me. When he says America is broken and should be fixed with massive government programs, he does not speak for me. When he demonizes success and tramples our Constitution, he does not speak for me. When he disrespects the military or degrades their mission he does not speak for me. When oppressed people cry out against tyranny and are willing to die for freedom, he doesn’t speak at all.

So all other “ists” and “isms” notwithstanding, I say to my Liberal friend that I mostly consider myself a “real-ist”. Occasionally my government loses its way and as long as there is a First Amendment, I will speak for myself and try to influence a course correction. I have always been and shall always be proud of my country. If supporting those in other countries who are trying to restore freedom’s natural order is “meddling”, then I’m a “medd-ler”. There, we now have a “ler” label.

Above all else, I am an American and to the people of Iran, if our acting president won’t say it, I will — Press on! We hear your voices and you are not alone. God and the American people are with you!

Reporting is dead. It has been obvious to anyone with two eyes and two ears that the media has become little more than the government’s public relations arm but Wednesday’s public wedding makes it official. The pretense of any objectivity is over. ABC is not only limiting program participation to ‘Obama-ites’ only, they are refusing to allow the purchase of commercial time by anyone expressing opposing points of view — in other words, anyone telling the truth about the actual costs and pitfalls of Socialized Medicine. Excuse me but the First Amendment is where?

More than unprecedented in America, this is dangerous and not only diminishes the power of a White House backdrop for announcements of national significance but drives the final nail into ABC’s credibility coffin. A few highlights will be news anchor Charlie Gibson delivering World News from the Blue Room of the White House. Then, the network plans their propaganda special ‘Prescription for America’ originating from the East Room, excluding opposing voices from the debate, of course. Urgency will undoubtedly be stressed, as it was with the so-called Stimulus Bill, in [hope] of similarly cramming health care [change] down our throats before most people figure out what’s really going on.

Just in case you haven’t lost your dinner by then, the spin continues after the news on Nightline. Oh, by the way, Director of Communications at the ‘White House Office of Health Reform’ is Linda Douglass, who worked as a reporter for ABC News from 1998-2006.  Nuptial knot need more tightening? Consider ex-NBC anchor Tom Brokaw being appointed to a special White House panel!

If Fox News was on the ball, they would plan to broadcast a solid wall of competing fact from 5PM until midnight to provide viewers with an alternative to the gibberish that will be spewed from the East Room that night. On the plus side, after this travesty, it should be much more difficult for Democrats to even think Fairness Doctrine or try pushing the concept of ‘localism‘ in broadcasting. We’ll see — anything is possible once the government wraps its talons around our information.

Last night I heard someone refer to him as, “The Wal-Mart greeter of late night talk hosts”; it’s a pretty accurate description of the current state of his ‘act’. Ol’ Dave has been around for a long time — maybe too long.

A few years ago Don Imus was fired for a disrespectful, off-the-cuff remark uttered in response to something said by one of his morning show accomplices. Later that day, he made a sincere apology to the girls he had offended and a few days later spent several hours with them in caring conversation, even though he had already been released from the station and had nothing to gain, except the preservation of his self respect.

On the other hand, the statements made by Letterman were premeditated. They had been written, approved, recorded, edited and finally delivered under the pretense of a ‘joke’ — no fewer than five opportunities for someone to realize the material was in poor taste and eliminate it. After five days, no comment has yet been made by CBS and nothing approaching a serious apology has slipped through the gaps in Dave’s teeth.

Given his own record of fatherhood, one has to be surprised he would even raise the subject. Throwing stones at Conservative women seems to have become good sport for ‘the other side’ and Sarah Palin might as well wear a bullseye on her back. Maybe it’s because she IS, in fact, everything many of her Liberal counterparts only talk about but never achieve. I think she scares the hell out of them. Anyone with the ability to draw a crowd of 20 or 30 thousand people just by reading the Yellow Pages will do that!

Whether or not there was anything political fueling Letterman’s intent is, at best, secondary. First and foremost, he was simply stupid. Imagine the outcry if a Conservative had said that Hillary Clinton had a “slutty flight attendant look” or that one of Obama’s little girls had been “knocked up” by a professional athlete.

Alleged funny man, or whatever the excuse, as someone in the public eye David Letterman is charged with a certain responsibility — and when he elects to abdicate that responsibility, there must be consequences. If Imus can be fired for tossing pebbles onto the basketball court, what should be the penalty for hurling boulders at the innocent? Letterman must go.

North Korea practically lives in the candy aisle and Kim Jong-il’s ranting in front of the world seems always to be met with his sweet tooth being pacified. Neither the U.S., China nor anyone else will ‘pants’ this little bad boy and provide the disciplinary paddling he so richly has earned. He needs to be taught what it means to be a small mouse playing with big cats — and that just because he sports some claws, doesn’t mean he’ll ever be mistaken for a feline.

The danger in leaving this ‘roaring rodent’ unchecked lies, not so much in his own use of North Korea’s nuclear capability, but in his willingness to export any part of their storefront to the highest bidders — bidders that are madmen even more highly motivated than himself. Just as many grocery stores have done, his neighbors need to establish a candy free aisle for little Kimmy.

For openers, they need to impose an immediate halt of all materiel and financial resources to N.K. with verification, at will, by the international community. If he throws a tantrum, any force must be met with greater force until he backs away from his aggressive nuclear ambitions, not in word but in deed. He has proven on numerous occasions that he has no respect for talk or treaties and can neither be trusted nor tolerated.

Unlike the small boy, Kim Jong-il may eventually require stronger than usual measures to correct his irrational behavior — including measures to remove him altogether, kicking and screaming, from the store. Our world is already too dangerous a place to waste any more precious time fooling around with a fool.

It must be said, that like the breaking of a great dam, the American descent into Marxism is happening with breath taking speed, against the backdrop of a passive, hapless sheeple, excuse me dear reader, I meant people.

True, the situation has been well prepared on and off for the past century, especially the past twenty years. The initial testing was conducted upon our Holy Russia and a bloody test it was. But we Russians would not just roll over and give up our freedoms and our souls, no matter how much money Wall Street poured into the fists of the Marxists.

Those lessons were taken and used to properly prepare the American populace for the surrender of their freedoms and souls, to the whims of their elites and betters.

First, the population was dumbed down through a politicized and substandard education system based upon pop culture rather than the classics. Americans know more about their favorite T.V. dramas than the drama in D.C. that directly affects their lives. They care more for their “right” to choke down a McDonald’s or Burger King burger than for their constitutional rights. Then they turn around and lecture us about our rights and about our “democracy”. Pride blinds the foolish.

Then their faith in God was destroyed, until their churches, all tens of thousands of different “branches and denominations” were for the most part little more than Sunday circuses and their televangelists and mega preachers were more than happy to sell out their souls and flocks to be on the “winning” side of one pseudo Marxist politician or another. Their flocks may complain, but when explained that they would be on the “winning” side, their flocks were ever so quick to reject Christ in hopes for earthly power. Even our own Holy Orthodox churches are scandalously liberalized in America.

The final collapse has come with the election of Barack Obama. His speed in the past three months has been truly impressive. His spending and money printing has been a record setting, not just in America’s short history but in the world. If this keeps up for more than another year, and there is no sign that it will not, America at best will resemble the Weimar Republic and at worst Zimbabwe.

These past two weeks have been the most breath taking of all. First came the announcement of a planned redesign of the American Byzantine tax system, by the very thieves who used it to bankroll their thefts, loses and swindles of hundreds of billions of dollars. These make our Russian oligarchs look like little more than ordinary street thugs, in comparison. Yes, the Americans have beaten our own thieves in shear volume. Should we congratulate them?

These men, of course, are not an elected panel but made up of appointees picked from the very financial oligarchs and their henchmen who are now gorging themselves on trillions of American dollars, in one bailout after another. They are also usurping the rights, duties and powers of the American Congress. Again, Congress has put up little more than a whimper to their masters.

Then came Barack Obama’s command that GM’s (General Motors) president step down from leadership of his company. That is correct, dear reader, in the land of “pure” free markets, the American President now has the power, the self given power, to fire CEOs and we can assume other employees of private companies, at will. Come hither, go dither, the centurion commands his minions.

So it should be no surprise, that the American President has followed this up with a “bold” move of declaring that he and a group of unelected, chosen stooges will now redesign the entire automotive industry and will even be the guarantor of automobile policies. I am sure that if given the chance, they would happily try and redesign it for the whole of the world, too. Prime Minister Putin, less than two months ago, warned Obama as did the UK’s Blair, not to follow the path to Marxism, it only leads to disaster. Apparently, even though we suffered 70 years of this Western sponsored horror show, we know nothing, as foolish, drunken Russians, so let our “wise” Anglo-Saxon fools find out the folly of their own pride.

Again, the American public has taken this with barely a whimper…but a “free man” whimper.

So, should it be any surprise to discover that the Democratically controlled Congress of America is working on passing a new regulation that would give the American Treasury department the power to set “fair” maximum salaries, evaluate performance and control how private companies give out pay raises and bonuses? Senator Barney Frank, a social pervert basking in his homosexuality (of course, amongst the modern, enlightened American societal norm, as well as that of the general West, homosexuality is not only not looked down upon as a life choice, but is often praised as a virtue) and his Marxist enlightenment, has led this effort. He stresses that this only affects companies that receive government monies, but if retroactive and taken to a logical extreme, this would also include any company or industry that has ever received a tax break or incentive.

The Russian owners of American companies and industries should look thoughtfully at this and the option of closing their facilities down and fleeing the land of the Red as fast as possible. In other words, divest while there is still value left.

The proud American will go down into his slavery without a fight, beating his chest and proclaiming to the world, how free he really is. The world will only snicker.

Notice the reference to a descent into Marxism right in the very first sentence! Those of us who have seen it coming will not be surprised. Those who don’t ‘get it’ until it’s too late it will continue to make excuses and try to place blame everywhere but upon their own shoulders. It seems the more things change, the more they stay the same. Today the little variety store is called North Korea, the man behind the counter is named Kim Jong-il and you still can’t buy anything for a dime. However, they have plenty on display and regular live demonstrations of their merchandise. Most recently, they rolled out a nuclear device about the size of the Hiroshima blast and a couple of rockets that can reach out from a few hundred to a few thousand miles. No-o-o-o, they’re not aiming at The United States but they are hoping this eye candy attracts the attention of buyers like Hamas, Al-Qaeda and similar prospects who may be shopping for the right ingredients to quench their murderous thirst and complement their bar full of nuts.

Meanwhile, what is the acting President doing since he returned from his American apology tour? Well, Barack ‘Chavez’ Obama is focusing his wrecking ball on the economy once again, this time buying himself another car company, preparing to add health care to the long list of failed government follies and nominating the most radical candidate ever to be considered for a lifetime appointment to the Supreme Court. Add a VAT tax, an energy tax, as well as several nuisance taxes and we have pure taste titillation for the quenchless thirst of our own Socialist nut bar.

As far as the North Korean dime store, not to worry — just like Iran, Pakistan, Afghanistan and other troubled kids on the block we’re going to talk with them, all the time hoping we don’t get mugged while we’re hobnobbing. Maybe we’ll even roll over for the United Nations, just to show our soft underbelly to any madmen who didn’t notice when our fearless leader exposed it in the first place. Change? Geez, I hope I have enough left for a chocolate soda!

Somehow, we’ve been sold a bill of goods that America is the problem instead of the solution. Images of our imminent demise flash across the screen and bad guys inflict some twisted notion of justice upon the greatest nation ever to grace the Earth. They do so not because we did anything wrong but because we have achieved such success — and, according to the perverted value system of the Liberal kook fringe, we are supposed to feel guilty about it!

If you wonder why we don’t win wars anymore, watch a patriotic old movie like “Men of the Fighting Lady” or “Task Force”; then contrast it with “The Day After” or some of the more contemporary terrorist inspired tripe, the names of which I refuse to even provide status. If the mindset of today’s Left had prevailed a few generations ago, we’d all be speaking German on the East coast, Japanese on The West and Europe would be goose-stepping to the refrain of Deutschland über alles!

Last week I was in Atlanta, Georgia attending a conference. While I was in the airport returning home, I heard several people behind me beginning to clap and cheer. I immediately turned around and witnessed one of the greatest acts of patriotism I have ever seen.

Moving thru the terminal was a group of soldiers in their camos. As they began heading to their gate, everyone (well almost everyone) was abruptly to their feet with their hands waving and cheering.

When I saw the soldiers, probably 30-40 of them, being applauded and cheered for, it hit me. I’m not alone. I’m not the only red-blooded American who still loves this country and supports our troops and their families.

Of course, I immediately stopped and began clapping for these young unsung heroes who are putting their lives on the line everyday for us so we can go to school, work and home without fear of reprisal.

Just when I thought I could not be more proud of my country or of our service men and women, a young girl, not more than 6 or 7 years old, ran up to one of the male soldiers. He kneeled down and said ‘hi.’

The little girl then asked him if he would give something to her daddy for her.

The young soldier, who didn’t look any older than maybe 22 himself, said he would try and what did she want to give to her daddy. Then suddenly the little girl grabbed the neck of this soldier, gave him the biggest hug she could muster and then kissed him on the cheek.

The mother of the little girl, who said her daughter’s name was Courtney, told the young soldier that her husband was a Marine and had been in Iraq for 11 months now. As the mom was explaining how much her daughter Courtney missed her father, the young soldier began to tear up.

When this temporarily single mom was done explaining her situation, all of the soldiers huddled together for a brief second. Then one of the other servicemen pulled out a military-looking walkie-talkie. They started playing with the device and talking back and forth on it.

After about 10-15 seconds of this, the young soldier walked back over to Courtney, bent down and said this to her, ‘I spoke to your daddy and he told me to give this to you.’ He then hugged this little girl that he had just met and gave her a kiss on the cheek. He finished by saying ‘your daddy told me to tell you that he loves you more than anything and he is coming home very soon.’

The mom at this point was crying almost uncontrollably and as the young soldier stood to his feet, he saluted Courtney and her mom. I was standing no more than 6 feet away from this entire event.

As the soldiers began to leave, heading towards their gate, people resumed their applause. As I stood there applauding and looked around, there were very few dry eyes, including my own. That young soldier in one last act of selflessness turned around and blew a kiss to Courtney with a tear rolling down his cheek and disappeared.

We need to remember everyday all of our soldiers and their families and thank God for them and their sacrifices. At the end of the day, it’s good to be an American.

On this Memorial Day 2009, I salute all the men and women of these United States who go in harm’s way, offer my gratitude and pray for their safe return.

I was privileged to attend one of the more than 700 Tea Parties held across America yesterday and, to paraphrase the acting president’s wife, “For the first time since November 4th I was proud to be an American!”

We heard speakers from 14 year old kids with mortgaged futures to the obligatory gaggle of politicians promising the usual “if elected” miracles. However, the speakers that moved me most were two naturalized American citizens: One who immigrated from the former Soviet Union and the other who escaped from Cuba. Both warned of the signs of impending tyranny we are witnessing from Washington and expressed fear of having “To go through it all again”. They moved me to the edge of tears, as I was later so moved while surrounded by an estimated 1500 fellow patriots singing, “God Bless America”. I don’t usually sing and guys from my generation don’t usually cry.

This was a local event, not one of the colossal affairs in New York, Chicago or Atlanta but I think very typical of the genuine grass roots movement that is so clearly confounding backers of the taxes and tyranny coming out of Washington. Masquerading as news media, the government’s public relations arm took first place gold in the “Rude and Crude” category and a silver in “I don’t get it”. Just watch this moronic, medal-winning performance by a member of the Communist News Network (CNN).

A few things are abundantly clear from these gatherings:

1. People are both frightened and angry — a powerful combination. It seems more people understand what’s really going on than I thought
2. The numbers of attendees at these Tea Parties are being underestimated and the events are being under-reported
3. While promoted as anti-tax/anti-spending events, the losses of freedom and incursions of big government into our lives are of, at least, equal concern
4. If ‘Bama-Socialist supporters don’t get it and provide a rapid change of direction in D.C., they’re on a fast track to a rapid exit of the current Congress in 2010, just for openers
5. These were gatherings of ALL perspectives, Left, Right, Republican, Democrat, Conservative, Independent — pick a label. The common thread was the overwhelming desire to keep America uniquely American and prosperous — and the feeling that we’re being driven down the wrong road

As one of the immigrant speakers astutely observed, “Communism or Socialism, it’s the same thing — because when you have one, the other always follows”. Taking into account drastic changes to our economy, destruction of the free market system, gigantic government growth and creation of elements like a militant National Security Force, the handwriting is on the wall for transition into a Totalitarian, Socialist State. Sorry ‘Bama, it’s not the change people wanted but you are unifying many of us, as you promised.

This is not Cuba, France, Russia or Germany. Americans will not sit idly by and watch our nation turned into a banana republic or see our rights disintegrate before our very eyes. How ever these Tea Parties are perceived, how ever they are reported, the importance of what actually happened yesterday can be found in the huge number of citizens rising up to stand against oppression; the silent majority is awakening to the call of freedom! You had to be there!
