The Ant and the Grasshopper

ant-and-grasshopperI received this e-Mail from a friend the other day and would like to share the stories with you in case you haven’t seen them.  Any resemblance between version number two and the current government regime’s method of operation is purely intentional.

Two different versions — two different morals.  When referring to the Left, I use the term “moral” advisedly.

Traditional - Version #1:

The ant works hard in the withering heat all summer long, building his house and laying up supplies for the winter.

The grasshopper thinks the ant is a fool and laughs and dances and plays the summer away.

Come winter, the ant is warm and well fed.

The grasshopper has no food or shelter, so he dies out in the cold.

Moral of the story: Be responsible for yourself!

Contemporary - Version #2:

The ant works hard in the withering heat all summer long, building his house and laying up supplies for the winter.

The grasshopper thinks the ant is a fool and laughs and dances and plays the summer away.

Come winter, the shivering grasshopper calls a press conference and demands to know why the ant should be allowed to be warm and well fed while others are cold and starving.

CBS, NBC , PBS, CNN, and ABC show up to provide pictures of the shivering grasshopper next to a video of the ant in his comfortable home with a table filled with food. America is stunned by the sharp contrast.

How can this be, that in a country of such wealth, this poor grasshopper is allowed to suffer so?

Kermit the Frog appears on Oprah with the grasshopper and everybody cries when they sing, ‘It’s Not Easy Being Green.’

Acorn stages a demonstration in front of the ant’s house where the news stations film the group singing, ‘We shall overcome.’  Rev. Jeremiah Wright then has the group kneel down to pray to God for the grasshopper’s sake.

Nancy Pelosi & Harry Reid exclaim in an interview with Larry King that the ant has gotten rich off the back of the grasshopper, and both call for an immediate tax hike on the ant to make him pay his fair share.

Finally, the EEOC drafts the Economic Equity & Anti- Grasshopper Discrimination Act retroactive to the beginning of the summer.

The ant is fined for failing to hire a proportionate number of green bugs and, having nothing left to pay his retroactive taxes, his home is confiscated by the Government Green Czar.

The story ends as we see the grasshopper finishing up the last bits of the ant’s food while the government house he is in, which just happens to be the ant’s old house, crumbles around him because he doesn’t maintain it.

The ant has disappeared in the snow.

The grasshopper is found dead in a drug related incident and the house, now abandoned, is taken over by a gang of spiders who terrorize the once peaceful neighborhood.

Moral of the story: Be careful how you vote in 2010. The rights you save may be your own!

Barack O’Moses Ten Commandments

obama-mosesAfter observing Barack Hussein Obama on the campaign trail and during his first six months in Washington, The Patriot Update concluded that the acting president lives and governs according to his own set of “Ten Commandments.” These are NOT the same Commandments you learned in Sunday School — in fact, many are the exact opposite!  To verify the accuracy of The Patriot’s conclusions, you’ll find a link to its source after the ‘Obamafied’ version of each Commandment.

So let it be written, so let it be regurgitated:

I. Thou shalt have no God in America, except for me. For we are no longer consider ourselves a Christian nation and, after all, I am the chosen One. (And like God, I do not have a birth certificate.) SOURCE

VIII. Thou shalt not steal, until you’ve been elected to public office. Only then is it acceptable to take money from hard-working, successful citizens and give it to those who do not work, illegal immigrants, or those who do not have the motivation to better their own lives. SOURCE

X. Thou shalt not covet because it is simply unnecessary. I will place such a heavy tax burden on those that have achieved the American Dream that, by the end of my term as President, nobody will have any wealth or material goods left for you to covet. SOURCE

Hey, did you hear the one about the incompetent Marxist who ran for President and won? No.  It’s not a joke.  It actually happened in a place I used to know.

Freedom, Tea and Me

Patriots In The Rain

I was privileged to attend one of the more than 700 Tea Parties held across America yesterday and, to paraphrase the acting president’s wife, “For the first time since November 4th I was proud to be an American!”

We heard speakers from 14 year old kids with mortgaged futures to the obligatory gaggle of politicians promising the usual “if elected” miracles. However, the speakers that moved me most were two naturalized American citizens: One who immigrated from the former Soviet Union and the other who escaped from Cuba. Both warned of the signs of impending tyranny we are witnessing from Washington and expressed fear of having “To go through it all again”. They moved me to the edge of tears, as I was later so moved while surrounded by an estimated 1500 fellow patriots singing, “God Bless America”. I don’t usually sing and guys from my generation don’t usually cry.

This was a local event, not one of the colossal affairs in New York, Chicago or Atlanta but I think very typical of the genuine grass roots movement that is so clearly confounding backers of the taxes and tyranny coming out of Washington. Masquerading as news media, the government’s public relations arm took first place gold in the “Rude and Crude” category and a silver in “I don’t get it”. Just watch this moronic, medal-winning performance by a member of the Communist News Network (CNN).

A few things are abundantly clear from these gatherings:

  1. People are both frightened and angry — a powerful combination. It seems more people understand what’s really going on than I thought
  2. The numbers of attendees at these Tea Parties are being underestimated and the events are being under-reported
  3. While promoted as anti-tax/anti-spending events, the losses of freedom and incursions of big government into our lives are of, at least, equal concern
  4. If ‘Bama-Socialist supporters don’t get it and provide a rapid change of direction in D.C., they’re on a fast track to a rapid exit of the current Congress in 2010, just for openers
  5. These were gatherings of ALL perspectives, Left, Right, Republican, Democrat, Conservative, Independent — pick a label. The common thread was the overwhelming desire to keep America uniquely American and prosperous — and the feeling that we’re being driven down the wrong road

As one of the immigrant speakers astutely observed, “Communism or Socialism, it’s the same thing — because when you have one, the other always follows”. Taking into account drastic changes to our economy, destruction of the free market system, gigantic government growth and creation of elements like a militant National Security Force, the handwriting is on the wall for transition into a Totalitarian, Socialist State. Sorry ‘Bama, it’s not the change people wanted but you are unifying many of us, as you promised.

This is not Cuba, France, Russia or Germany. Americans will not sit idly by and watch our nation turned into a banana republic or see our rights disintegrate before our very eyes. How ever these Tea Parties are perceived, how ever they are reported, the importance of what actually happened yesterday can be found in the huge number of citizens rising up to stand against oppression; the silent majority is awakening to the call of freedom! You had to be there!

Somebody Tell Mother Nature

Glass StomachLast night, all those who like to mix their religion with politics in an attempt to discover science got to feel good about themselves for a few minutes. The intent was a show of global unity in the desire to tinker with the Earth’s natural heating and cooling cycles. The result was, in fact, a demonstration of weakness and global gullibility. Almost as brilliantly as the lights blazed in my house, headlines blazed across the Internet:

“Lights go out across planet for Earth Hour”
“World switches off to save planet in Earth Hour”
“Cities switch off for Earth Hour”

Unfortunately for a great many people living in the world of reality, nobody told Ma Nature about the event and she produced headlines like:

“Kansas City Airport Closed Due to Snow Storm”
“Severe weather strikes Plains, Gulf Coast”
“Cold weather eases flood threat in Fargo”

After experiencing one of the coldest winters on the planet in decades, including snow in places like Louisiana, Mississippi and California, I’m convinced most planet-saving ‘Greenies’ must be sporting glass stomachs or they’d keep bumping into things. They not only continue their flight of fancy in the face of truths their own senses can’t deny but are completely missing the more dangerous implications of government using climate change as a mechanism for tyrannical control of our personal lives. That’s why the hoax was perpetuated in the first place!

I think the best shtick of the evening was CNN promoting their around the world coverage of “Earth Hour” events. Wait a minute — doesn’t it take an enormous amount of energy to generate such coverage? Well, I suppose it’s no worse than ‘Guru Gore’ flying around on a private jet to rant about our over use of fossil fuels. Instead of worrying about man made global warming , we need to start thinking about man made global fortunes and the losses of liberty resulting from our blindness!

You know, mushrooms like it in the dark, too — and are usually fed a diet of the same stuff our little planet savers have been swallowing.

Now Amerika!

American TurncoatsYesterday the House and Senate each passed the huge $1.2 trillion ‘Porkasbord’. If there’s a bright side to any of this, it’s that House Republicans seem to have rediscovered their core values and stood solidly against the non-stimulus measure, even though their meager numbers were predictably outvoted 246-183. The Senate tally was 60-38 with three traitorous RINOs voting with the Amerikan Socialist Party.

Twice, Arlen Specter [of Pennsylvania], Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins [both of Maine] had a chance to stop this giant obscenity in its tracks, sending it back to the drawing board for a realistic rewrite. Twice, with their votes for the original Senate bill and last night voting for the revised House version, all three stood with their backs firmly turned against their country, their party and the vast majority of the American people.

To have drafted the final bill without permitting Republican input was irresponsible; to have voted on it before anyone had a chance to read it was unconscionable; to ignore the will of the people, begin changing our system of government into something alien to The Founders and mortgage the fortunes and liberty of future generations simply defies description! From what anyone actually knows about the ‘Porkasbord’, there is little stimulus in it for the economy but plenty of payback for special interests and funding for growing government.

You expect destructive behavior from demagogues like Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Barney Frank or ‘Bama himself: they’re flagrantly far-Left, arrogantly radical and plainly incompetent. It is fools like Arlen Specter, Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins, who continue to confound by declaring themselves as Republicans but vote, more often than not, with the Socialists. Their punishment is mandatory; voting out of office is too good for such un-American behavior but it’s all we have in what, at least for the time being, is still a democracy.

There is no comfort in knowing that this spending legislation, and that which follows, is doomed to failure or that it’s failure falls squarely upon the shoulders of the former Democrat Party. Historically, spending in a down economy has never worked — on the other hand tax cuts have never failed but the dark forces crafting this boondoggle managed to remove what few actual tax cuts there were.

There is no comfort because, even more important than the cost of this measure in dollars and cents, is the cost in liberty. So distracting is the financial aspect of the ‘Porkasbord’ that most people have overlooked where their money is going and what it is doing. As well as the single greatest transfer of wealth in history from the private sector to government, it is also the single greatest transfer in history of freedom from the individual to the state. The Constitution has been cast aside and we are now entering an era of government without limits — huge, unrestrained and tyrannical. Nowhere does the Constitution authorize this kind of spending, mandates about to be imposed upon the private sector, or restrictions placed upon the individual. Rather, the Constitution was designed to restrict government and protect against exactly the kind of abuses occurring right now.

Thank you Mr. Specter, thank you Ms. Snowe, thank you Ms. Collins for selling out the free Republic of America and helping to reverse more than 200 years of sacrifice and hard-won liberty. Thanks to you and your Stalinist comrades, God-given rights are fast becoming government-granted privileges and “Government of the people, by the people and for the people” which “shall not perish from the earth” — just did!

The Beginning Of An Error

Joker Is WildIt is difficult to watch as the greatest nation on earth is brought to its knees by the blindness of its own mind-numbed people. Most still don’t get it, as today we install a dangerous cartoon character into the most powerful office in America. Delivering his post election decrees from that big chair behind his pre-presidential desk, Barack Hussein Obama (henceforth known in these parts as “H”) reminds me of a little kid playing dress-up with daddy’s or mommy’s clothes. Today he starts playing for real — for ‘keepsies’ and our future is in his left hand.

By the way, in case you’re wondering about the “H” thing, if they can call President Bush “W”, we can use “H” for South Side Barry: “H” for Hussein and “H” for the drugs that have, admittedly, been part of his life. Turnabout, after all, is fair play. In answer to the most asked question on the media’s tainted lips, during the inauguration I plan to be going about my usual routine, consciously avoiding the spectacle marking the beginning of the end of life in our country as we know it.

They’re not only installing an incompetent thug into the oval office but, it would seem, something of a psychopath as well, overshadowing even Napoleon himself. Our first hint should have been his building of a Grecian temple in the middle of a football field to deliver a speech to campaign worshipers. Next he thought he was F.D.R., then John F. Kennedy — but when the reality of comparing the Obamas with the Kennedys was obviously closer to a comparison of the Jeffersons with the Waltons, he became Abraham Lincoln!

Somebody please explain to me the logic behind flying to Philadelphia in order to take a train to Washington, D.C., taking his oath on the Lincoln bible or spending $170 million on his inauguration in a recessed economy, even as he preaches sacrifice to ordinary mortals. He is not Kennedy, he is not Roosevelt, nor is he Lincoln. He’s not even Obama — but merely a persona created by his publicists and the media arm of the Democrat Party. He hasn’t done ANYTHING yet! His crowning achievement is buying the White House, mostly with contributions from America’s enemies. This kid is kind of missing a step here: actually BEING president!

I keep hearing Marxist supporters say, “Give him a chance.” and “Wish him success.” Give him a chance to do what — destroy our health care system, American industry and the economy; redistribute wealth from the productive to the lazy and jeopardize our national security? As for success,”H” must fail to fulfill his plans if we are to survive as a nation. His are not the plans needed for a free country during wartime or in times of economic strife. He and other communistic types like Madam Pelosi, who even now is attempting to consolidate all possible legislative power into her own hands, must be resisted with every fiber of our being.

Today is indeed historic, not because we are inaugurating the first Black president, but because it may be the first of the last days for The Free Republic of America. Today may herald the end of the Capitalist system which has provided us with the greatest prosperity in the history of the world and the end to our precious liberty, for which so many millions have sacrificed and died during the past two-and-a-quarter centuries. Today “H” will begin his administration with a lie as he swears to uphold, protect and defend the Constitution of The United States, when he actually believes it is a flawed document and wants it rewritten beginning with the First and Second Amendments.

Today, my stars and stripes fly at half-staff, in memory of what has been and in fear of what is yet to come. God bless our country and awaken those who slumber in ignorance.

They Know Not What They Do

Tuesday November 4, 2008 may well be the darkest day in the history of our great nation. The impossible happened: The blind and the ignorant joined forces with the deaf and the dopey to defeat liberty and freedom in America.

It wasn’t even close, which goes to show you how little attention most people paid to the realities that were everywhere but inside their mushy little craniums. The T.V. and tabloids did get one thing right…this was an historic event. Not since Germany in the late 1930s have so many, given up so much, so easily.

After singing a few choruses of the new president-elect’s praises, one commentator remarked, “We don’t actually know Sheep to Shearingwho he really is!” The other replied, “Ya. I guess we’ll have to wait ’til after January 20th to find out; we just don’t know that much about him.” Yes you do. You simply chose to look the other way like all the other sheep. What a terrific way to elect the most powerful man in the world! Sour grapes? You bet! I love this country; she has treated me well.

How interesting to read about the unbridled joy of so many foreign countries over the results of today’s election. Our close, warm, personal friends in Russia, Iran, Syria, et al cheer at our weakness. Meanwhile France, Germany, England, and so many others are ready to welcome us into their sheared Socialist flock with open arms. I have just one question: We’ve sort of made a career out of being the big dog on the farm. When the wolves start pawing at the sand in front of their gate, who’s going to save their butts this time…a listless America that lives in the same barnyard?

God bless us all. We’re going to need it. I’m going to bed.

Something REALLY Scary

Imagine a scenario where a radical European Socialist with an unchecked majority of supporters in Congress have taken over the government. Now imagine they have legislated away your freedom and taken control of your life; you are no longer an individual but merely one of the masses contributing to the welfare of a political state!

Obama-Marx BannerFar Left Liberals like Joe Biden, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and John Murtha determine what you are permitted to see, hear and do…what medical care you are permitted, how much you are allowed to earn, where and how you may live. Presidential advisers like William Ayers, Jeremiah Wright, Louis Farrakhan and Rashid Khalidi occupy Cabinet positions.

Our national defense has been placed in the hands of the United Nations. Israel has ceased to exist while the matter is being ‘negotiated’ with Iran. The Supreme Court is dominated by justices who have rewritten our Constitution and legislate from the bench.

You can make this and more come true on November 4th if you support Obama’s counter-American agenda or if you don’t go out and vote to, at least, offset the ballot of some guy living in a cardboard box that has been illegally registered by Obama operatives.
