When the great Muhammed Ali was fighting, he developed a tactic called the Rope-A-Dope. He would cover up and simply let the other guy punch himself out. In the later rounds, when his opponent’s arms became weary and exhaustion was setting in, Ali would open up with his “haymaker” and put the fellow’s lights out.
Enter Hillary ‘Marx’ Clinton and her mob of would-be Democrat presidential contenders, pummelling each other about the head and shoulders. You’ll notice she not only avoids the tough questions; if you listen carefully, she doesn’t actually answer any questions. Everything is carefully orchestrated and she uncovers only long enough to flick an occasional jab. She’s doing a Rope-A-Dope.
Example: The Democrat audition held recently at Soldier Field in Chicago. As barbs about labor and big business were shot in her direction her response was, “I’m here because I think we need to change America; it’s not to get into fights with Democrats.” Then ‘H’ went on to talk about her ability to spar with Republicans. If Bush bashing is sparring, then her ridiculous Iowa campaign ad establishes a new record for throwing lefts with one foot mired in cow pie.
Remember the old Communist tactic of accusing the other guy of exactly what you’re doing yourself? Patti Solis Doyle, her proclaimed campaign manager, stated in a recent eMail to gullible supporters, “When you fight the right-wing machine the way Hillary has — and come out on top — they lash out with more lies and smears. It’s all they know how to do.” While you watch the ad, count the lies, smears and inaccuracies from Shrillery. Then find where she offers a single element of substance. If you hear anything beyond emotional gush [such as an actual concrete proposal] you and I are not watching the same video.
While President Bush has made his share of mistakes, his deep devotion to our brave fighting forces and their families is well documented and is not one of them.
What is invisible are things like Hillary’s concern for America or our troops, her qualifications for understanding the plight of a single parent or for knowing what it’s like to struggle for existence. Want to really be invisible? Buy into her socialized medicine program, where the government determines what health care you can receive, when or if you’re entitled to it and who, in fact, lives or dies. Aren’t these the same people who mismanage the postal system, rendered Social Security insecure and made an expensive disaster of Medicare? Also invisible is the appeal of someone so terribly lacking in substance and devoid of character.
Several things are quite visible. Her Marxist approach to big government is glaring. ‘H’ has actually stated, “From each according to his ability, to each according to his need”…a page straight out of The Communist Manifesto. The desire to reinstitute failed policies and return to ‘the glory days’ of the 90s [or worse yet the Carter-McGovern era] is evident in the few suggestions she has attempted. Her disdain for the military and for the principles of capitalism is downright un-American, although typically Democrat.
Not long ago on her web site, Hillary Mrs. Clinton spoke about what she called, “one of the most important issues of my campaign”. It was the selection of her campaign song; not the war on terror or taxes, not education or the economy, not health care or abortion but her campaign song. She invited readers to suggest titles. I suggested “The State Anthem of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics” (Russian: Госуда́рственный гимн Сою́за Сове́тских Социалисти́ческих Респу́блик; Gosudarstvenny Gimn Soyuza Sovetskikh Sotsialisticheskikh Respublik). Since, like everything else around her, submissions are carefully screened…I didn’t make the cut.
From the [lack of] ability she has shown thus far, Hillary Marx Clinton has more the gawky appearance of a circus kangaroo than the grace and balance of a pugilist. It is imperative that we make certain her sneaky, shifty tactics don’t rope too many dopes.
