Kudos America

Congratulations to the American people for stepping up and defeating the immigration amnesty bill. Thank you to our Senators for hearing our voices and, nearly, making us feel represented once again.

You’ll notice, almost without exception, the print and broadcast lynch-mob is talking about the defeat of “Mr. Bush’s Bill”. Unfortunately, he supported the measure but make no mistake that it belonged to Ted Kennedy and Harry Reid. They’ll bounce back by diverting attention to the so called “fairness doctrine”…but John McCain and some other pseudo-Republicans are going to pay a price at the polls for their insistent support of this insulting scrap of paper.

Now, let’s close the boarders by enforcing existing laws. Build the other 698 miles of fence too, if we must. Once we’ve stemmed the invading tide, we can concentrate on how to handle the remaining 12-20 million illegals already here. One thing we can do right away is enforce the minimum wage and levy stiffer penalties against employers who don’t comply. We won’t have to worry about rounding up many “people living in the shadows” once the jobs dry up. Cutting back on a few entitlements wouldn’t hurt either. “The shadows” will empty quickly and most of those casting them will leave of their own accord.

I have only one concern. Who is going to pick the lettuce once they’re gone?
