The Tef-O-Crats

I call for the resignation of Senator Chuck ‘Where’s The Camera’ Schumer. As a loose cannon on the ship of state, he needs to step down.  His lies and distortions are a constant distraction from the meaningful business of government and his smear tactics against those he views as threats are inexcusable.  He has become about as useful as udders on a bull and, more than occasionally, strikes me as being one or two fries short of a Happy Meal.  Speaking of bull, let’s put a few things into context about his [and other extremists'] irrational attack on Attorney General Alberto Gonzales.

Mr. Gonzales has done nothing wrong or improper. His biggest problem is that he doesn’t know how to stand up and defend himself. There seems to be a lot of that going around the Republican side of the aisle lately.  Neither he nor the President have done anything that is not without precedent in nearly every other administration of the past. In fact, they were quite restrained with the recent dismissal of prosecutors. Seven or eight of 93 federal prosecutors is a paltry number and, historically, it’s common for a number of prosecutors to be replaced during a president’s second term. Clinton and his hatchet-woman Janet Reno fired all 93, practically at once, including the lead prosecutor on the Whitewater Investigation! In fact, they then appointed a sympathetic former student of Mr. Clinton’s to continue the investigation of her mentor and guess who escaped scott free? Gee, what a surprise!  I don’t remember any cries for Janet Reno’s resignation, or any other sound coming from the Democrats, except that of silence.  It seems whenever one of these radical Libs commits a “faux pas” it’s allowed to just slip away, like overdone eggs from a Teflon pan. They even get a free pass for felonies. [What ever happened to Sandy Burglar and his secret pants, by the way?]

Now Hillary has added the shrillness of her voice to the hypocritical chorus calling for Mr. Gonzales’ resignation. You’d think she’d be smart enough to lay low and hope no one remembers she was around when Slick Willy pulled his sleight of hand with those massive, unprecedented prosecutorial changes. She was as much the beneficiary of Whitewater whitewashing as he. Maybe ’Shrillery’ should resign.

Schumer says the firings are political. Why shouldn’t they be? The position of federal prosecutor is a political appointment. These people serve at the pleasure of the Attorney General and the President who, also, have the constitutional authority to dismiss them without cause if they so choose.  Is the Left now saying that an employer no longer has the right to fire an employee in America?  That’s all that happened here; the boss let some employees go.  And Where are the Republicans? Isn’t it about time they stood up against this kind of distortion and demonstrated some backbone?  Hey boys and girls, you can’t continue to lie back and let these Democrat demagogues deceive the public at your expense. Of course, our illustrious lynch-mob media is all too happy to act as willing accomplices in reinforcing any extreme leftist point of view. It’s all part of the plan and, if you let it go on, it’s going to cost you now and it’s going to cost you big in 2008. The problem is, we’ll all pay the price!

In recent years, Democrats have adopted the old communist distraction tactic of accusing others of exactly what they, themselves, are doing. It doesn’t matter if the accused has done any wrong; the tactic simply serves to keep heat off of the accuser. Their tactic of distraction goes all the way back to the 2000 election when Al Gore was caught with his chads hanging out. Then Kerry lost, big time, in 2004 and the Left went nuts. I believe for the past 6 years it has simply been the Democrat plan to cause as much confusion as possible about anything and everything, to tie the hands of the administration.  If it can’t be their show, there will be no show at all. It’s power at any price, even at the peril of our country.  I believe this unwarranted attack on Attorney General Gonzales is simply more of that same plan, another diversionary, delaying tactic.

Anyone look into Schumer’s background lately? He’s about as squeaky-clean as 60 grit sandpaper. Just for openers, how about [as DSCC Chairman] ‘The Chuckster’ dispatching a staffer with an unauthorized social security number to steal the credit files of Maryland Lt. Governor Michael S. Steel, a Republican Senate candidate?  That case is still open and a lawsuit may be in the offing by Mr. Steel.  Talk about a culture of corruption!  He has called for the resignation of just about everyone else in Washington.  Teflon not withstanding, the time has come for Schumer, himself, to stick his face into one more T.V. camera and resign, before he makes a bigger buffoon of himself.

As a post script and while we’re throwing out dead wood, I also call for the resignation of ‘House Madam’ Nancy Pelosi. If you ever needed more proof of her incompetence and complete inability to do the job, you had only to hear her [and that mental patient she keeps at her side] trying to explain the Democrat surrender plan Tuesday.  It was pitiful. She’s the first woman Speaker and she is making all women look bad for future positions of responsibility. Being a grandmother makes her proud and well it should, but like Schumer, it’s time for her to stop blathering at the podium and try her hand at grand mothering instead of ‘House’ mothering.
